Key Account Manager

The Commercial department, End User team, has an opportunity for an Account Manager to join the current team. As part of our focus to grow our end user services, we are looking to recruit an Account Manager to join the team.

You will have proven experience of a customer facing role; good problem solving skills; excellent communication skills and have excellent facilitation skills to get the best out of stakeholders.

This role will require you to be the target driven and will require the ability to ensure a best in class service provision as well as being focused commercially on how you organically provide upsell opportunities in line with the customers’ needs.

 

Job Purpose

  • Delivery of the IMServ Sales Strategy
  • Responsible for the commercial management of a group of clients that are of strategic importance to the IMServ business
  • To explore and develop market potential for the Company with new services close to IMServ Core offerings, new territories and new markets.
  • Taking projects from an initial idea, product development, customer trials and ultimately through to securing a contract.
  • To develop long term business relationships
  • Represent all IMServ brands

Accountability/Key Responsibilities

  • To develop high level relationships with critical people with potential customer organisations
  • Ensuring profitable delivery of work through effective cross-department relationships and processes
  • Client strategy development and the production and monthly review of Key Account Plans
  • Delivering profitable work through accurate campaigns and projects quoting to an agreed price book
  • The management, skills development and motivation of Account teams
  • Maintaining and developing senior client contacts
  • Supporting new business development activity and pitches
  • Contributing to the management of the business as a part of the Sales and Marketing Department
  • Ensuring quality and timeliness of work delivered to clients, including organising scheduled key account reviews with board sponsors and internal project reviews
  • Financial management and reporting of client portfolio
  • Client engagement and commercial negotiation
  • To renew the required number of contracts and achieve the targeted level of incremental revenue as agreed with the Commercial Director
  • Host Corporate Hospitality events when required
  • To develop co-operative client focused relationships with all internal departments
  • Other duties as identified from time to time by the Director of Sales and Marketing
  • To represent IMServ in public arenas such as conferences or exhibitions to promote the IMServ range of energy solutions

Personal Specification

Education (Academic qualifications required)

Essential

  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy

Desirable

  • Additional qualifications in the area of responsibility e.g. Prince2 or equivalent

Experience (In the function/area/related area)

Essential

  • Previous business development experience particularly demonstrable ability to close business
  • Knowledge of Utility industry and general deregulation
  • High level commercial exposure (networking a C level)
  • Project Management Experience including analysis, design & execution

Desirable

  • Market research or consultancy experience
  • Experience of IT in business solutions
  • Linguistic skills
  • Marketing / Market Research experience

  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative
  • Proactive approach to potential customers
  • Discretion is important as highly sensitive information is an everyday part of the role

Physical Skills (Physical demands/working environment)

  • Regular use of PC’s at a desk in an open plan environment
  • Regular travel, both UK and international
  • Flexibility to be away from home at short notice

  • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels
  • Ability to deal with, influence and motivate other senior members of staff
  • Must be a self starter, and self motivated, required to work effectively with the minimum of direction & management
