Job Description
Job Purpose
To look at the future needs of the markets in which IMServ operates to identify and develop ways that IMServ can develop new products and services to generate growth income.
To be IMServ’s commercial lead on industry change initiatives to maximise opportunities, as the country progresses toward Net Zero.
To own new product/service projects from an initial idea through to business case approval, then maintaining focus as a stakeholder through the construction of the service enhancement.
Accountability/Key Responsibilities
- To understand the changes that are taking place in the market that IMServ operates
- Support the development of a multi-year strategic response to these changes
- To lead the identification of market opportunities and the formation of the necessary customer and third party relationships to secure new product/service opportunities
- To support the acquisition and partnering processes that will develop IMServ’s new product/service offering
- Creating a pipeline of new opportunities and products for IMServ to consider development of
- Continuous engagement with all business areas to identify new product and/or services that will improve the commercial offerings to our customers
- To produce a business case that articulates the risk and reward of completing the proposed change, to gain approval for proceeding with the new product and/or service
- To articulate the reasons why a new product and/or service will not progress to construction to senior stakeholders and the originating idea generator
- To engage with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business to produce the business case for approval
- To prioritise the completion of the product/service development pipeline
- To provide regular engaging communications to the business on progress of product/service development
- Influencing the outcomes of industry changes to IMServ’s advantage, through consultation responses and attendance at working groups and forums
- Testing of concepts and outline commercial proposals with potential customers
- Support to bids and proposals for new services and opportunities that have come from the business development pipeline
- Lead internal review sessions to maintain awareness of market change for key stakeholders in IMServ, to collate feedback from Subject Matter Experts in IMServ attending industry meetings, all with a view to identify new product/service opportunities
- To defend and grow the current revenues from existing core metering and data services.
- To complete market and competitor analysis to analyse the market position of IMServ products and services
- To develop high level relationships with key stakeholders within IMServ
- To develop strong and value added business relationships with existing and new customers to ensure their requirements for products and services are understood
- To maintain engagement with the construction of a new product/service as a key stakeholder in the construction phase
- To ensure industry and market research is maintained
- To represent IMServ in public arenas such as conferences or exhibitions

Essential
- Education to degree level or equivalent
- Excellent literacy and numeracy

- Additional qualifications in the area of responsibility e.g. Prince2 or equivalent
- Understanding of the energy market and legislative changes to move the country toward net zero.
Experience (In the function/area/related area)

- Previous product/service development experience
- Knowledge of Utility industry and general deregulation
- Project Management Experience including analysis, design & execution

- Market research or consultancy experience
- Experience of IT in business solutions
- Electricity and energy market understanding
- High level commercial exposure (networking a C level)
- Marketing / Market Research experience
