And as we move into a more sustainable future, we’re delivering innovative solutions that help energy suppliers and businesses across the UK to solve their complex energy challenges  – driving efficiency, providing insight and ensuring they can deliver on their objectives.
At IMSERV we saw systems that were slow to adapt, insights locked behind outdated tools, and critical data that never reached the people who needed it most. We saw rising costs, falling trust, and a growing urgency for sustainability.
So we built something different – a technology company grounded in engineering expertise, designed to turn the messy reality of energy data into meaningful action. Because solving the hard stuff isn’t just what we do – it’s who we are.

Milestones
30+ years of data innovation
1992
First established as UKDCS
– the sole data collector in England and Wales.
1998–1999
Collects data from 80,000 HH sites as the monopoly provider
UKDCS acquired by Invensys and rebranded as IMSERV.
2001–2005
IMSERV becomes a meter operator and starts Non-Half-Hourly data services; Partner Channel launches to deliver services to more UK businesses.
2001–2005
Launch of EDV 2.0 (specialist online reporting software); IMSERV wins British Land’s award for “Managing Efficiently — Supplier”; IMSERV acquired by Schneider Electric.
2001–2005
Establishes Settlement Metering Services, Gas Services and Water AMR Services; moves energy management onsite and develops the Bureau Team.
2015—2017
Wins the Energy Award for Data Collection and Analysis; awarded Institute of Customer Service Mark.
2018–2019
First UK non-domestic metering business to receive OU Accreditation for Smart Meters; launches the Virtual Energy Manager app for SMEs.
2020
Launch of DataVision, a modern visualization platform; successfully installs first 3-phase SMETS2 meter.
2021
IMSERV acquired by BlueWater.
2023
IMSERV acquires Power Data Associates and enters the unmetered energy data collection market.
2024
Jo Cox appointed CEO; new era for IMSERV, role-modelling Net Zero by delivering innovation and value to customers.
2024—2025
Leadership team refreshed with a mix of new and existing talent.
2025
IMSERV acquires Astral Tech, enhancing capabilities in energy data services and positioning itself as a sector leader.
