National Apprenticeship Week 2026

This week is National Apprenticeship Week 2026, a time for of the year for recognising the spark our Apprentices bring to IMSERV single day. This year we really wanted to highlight some of our apprentices and their hard work;

Josh Burnapp, Level 3 Learning and Development

First, we have Josh, who’s just completed his Apprenticeship, he started in March 2024 and completed it only a couple of weeks ago, smashing his End Point Assessment! Josh really enjoyed creating his Learning Journal as it was a personal way for him to reflect on the different challenges he’s faced over the apprenticeship and how he’s improved over time, despite finding it tricky to keep track of his time log. Congratulations Josh!

“Completing my apprenticeship meant so much to me. It proved that I can achieve anything I put my mind to, and it made me genuinely proud of myself.”

Tracey Stone, Level 5 Learning and Development

Next is Tracey, she’s just completed her Apprenticeship with a Distinction! She started in January 2024 and finished in December 2025. Tracey really enjoyed completing each assignment and reflecting on them, whilst working closely with some of the other apprentices. Tracey found remembering all the different models quite difficult, however with detailed notes and some visual aids, she managed to persevere. Well Done Tracey!

“I’m so proud of myselfI can be one of my own worst critics and haven’t always believed in my abilities, so achieving this result has really boosted my confidence and shown me that I understand and know far more than I often give myself credit for.”

Rebekah Morris, Level 7 Senior Leadership

Following on is Bex, she’s working through her Apprenticeship, having started in March 2025 and will finish in October this year. Bex really appreciates the support and enthusiasm she gets from our teams and the support she gets from her Manager and has been working on intelligent ways to keep her time logs on track. Keep smashing it Bex!

“This journey has been incredible, rewarding & the right kind of challenging for me!”

Kieran Schmidt, Level 7 Sustainability Business Specialist

After this is Kieran, he’s been working on his Apprenticeship, starting in September 2025 and finishing in August 2027. Kieran has found directly linking his learning to his day to day work the most enjoyable. All while showcasing the value of taking on an apprenticeship whilst finding studying a new subject at Masters level to be a whole new challenge. Good job Kieran, keep it up!

“It’s been a really positive and motivating experience. I’m enjoying getting deeper into sustainability and understanding how it connects to decisions and improvements we can make in the workplace. Overall, it’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and one that’s reinforced how effective apprenticeships can be for building both knowledge and real-world capability.”

Evie Mellor, Level 5 Coaching Professional

Next up is Evie Mellor, who’s completed her Apprenticeship in June 2025, having started in March 2024. Evie really enjoyed applying her learning content in coaching our field teams, seeing the results of her hard work immediately. She found challenges in balancing her responsibilities with learning terminology, theory and new ways of thinking. However with the support of her team, she pushed through, showing resilience. Congratulations Evie!

“Completing the apprenticeship was a genuinely proud moment! – It felt like the culmination of a lot of hard work, commitment, and personal growth. Putting myself forward to learn something completely new  and not only succeeding but enjoying the journey, was incredibly fulfilling.”

Ben Penrose, Level 5 Coaching Professional

Lastly, but certainly not least Ben Penrose completed his Apprenticeship last week, having started in January 2024. Ben dove head first into the history of coaching and the tools / models that unlock a persons potential. Ben found change in his working and study environment quite challenging but overcame this through perseverance. Well Done Ben!

“It actually meant a lot because I am really passionate about coaching and development and so much has happened over the last year at one point, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to continue with it, so getting to the finish line means so much.”

Apprenticeships are important to us as an organisation. They provide opportunities for our people to ‘earn while they learn’ meaning they have opportunities, through on the job training to achieve a formal qualification whilst developing skills for life.
