Half Hourly Data Collection
Building a clearer picture of your commercial energy usage for accurate billing and energy efficiency. IMServ’s Automated Half Hourly Data Collection (HHDC) service records your energy usage at 48 half hourly (HH) data intervals every day. If your business site has a peak load above 100kW it is mandatory to install a HH meter and appoint a HH Data Collector and Meter Operator. If your site’s peak load is less than 100kW we recommend our Non Half Hourly Services.
Providing accurate reading data
on your commercial energy
usage for billing
There are 300,000 larger non-domestic sites for which the collection of half-hourly metered electricity consumption data is mandatory. For these sites, accurate information on electricity use is fed into the industry’s settlement systems for every half-hour of the day. The price paid by the energy consumer may be linked to the half-hourly metered data too, and whilst these tariffs represent a truer reflection of the costs of electricity, they can benefit those consumers who can adjust their load accordingly.
Energy suppliers use the HHHC service to obtain this data for use in settlement and billing processes.
Energy consumers can also use the HHHC service to obtain data for use in procurement and energy efficiency.
For smaller sites, HHDC is an optional service, with an increasing number of customers opting for the benefits that this service brings.
Ofgem is currently considering making half-hourly settlement mandatory to all sites as part of its Electricity Settlement Reform project.
The service includes:
• Remote collection of energy data at 48 half hourly intervals per day.
• Compliance to the Balancing & Settlement Code (BSC) for Half Hourly Sites.
• Proactive data validation, estimation, fault management and resolution.
• Access to data via IMServ’s online portal “EDV”.
Benefits of using IMServ:
• Develop a more accurate picture of your energy consumption.
• Data validation by specialist systems to ensure data quality and completeness.
• Receive more accurate bills based on actual consumption.
• All data is accurate, secure, verified and independent from Suppliers.
• Ability to discover areas for energy efficiencies and suitable energy tariffs.
• Identify energy wastage and cost reduction opportunities.
• 30 minute interval data for greater understanding of electricity usage.

- The collection of kWh and register reading data on both Main and Check meters.
- Compliance to the BSC (Balancing & Settlement Code) for Half Hourly Sites with a Profile Class 05-08 meter prior to 5th November 2015 and a Measurement Class E, F or G once the site has been transitioned to the new settlement code, outlined in industry change P272.
- Proactive fault management and resolution.
- Estimation services during fault management.
- Access to data via IMServ’s online portal “EDV”.
- Monitoring energy usage accurately allows you to understand and manage your usage, control your costs and reduce your carbon footprint.

For these sites, accurate information on electricity use is fed into the industry’s settlement systems for every half-hour of the day. As part of this process, half-hourly data collectors send their data to half-hourly data aggregators who then add up the data by energy supplier, geographic region and type of customer before submitting to industry settlement.
Energy suppliers use the HHHA service to process this data for use in settlement.
For smaller sites, HHDA is an optional service, with an increasing number of customers opting for the benefits that this service brings.
Ofgem is currently considering making half-hourly settlement mandatory to all sites as part of its Electricity Settlement Reform project.
The service includes:
• Collection and processing of metered data received from Half Hourly Data Collectors.
• Additional support with all types of dispute resolution.
• Bespoke value added services including issue resolution and reporting.
Benefits of using IMServ:
• Data validation by specialist systems to ensure data quality and completeness.
• Receive more accurate bills based on industry validated actual consumption.
• All data is accurate, secure, verified and independent from Suppliers.
• Transparency of mandatory industry requirements.

For those sites that are not part of the half-hourly settlement market, this service uses advanced (AMR) meters to deliver half-hourly data for Energy consumers to use in procurement and energy efficiency activities, whilst simultaneously delivering monthly register reads for use by the energy supplier in billing and settlement.
The service includes:
• Remote collection of energy data from NHH meters.
• Compliance to the BSC (Balancing & Settlement Code) for Non Half Hourly sites.
• The collection of both register reading and half-hourly interval data.
• Proactive fault management and resolution.
• Access to data via IMServ’s online portal “EDV”.
• The validation and processing of register readings for use in NHH settlement and billing processes.
• Submission of validated readings into the NHH settlement process.
