IMSERV adopts leading AI video intelligence in groundbreaking move

IMSERV is pioneering the use of AI-powered video in smart metering to deliver a smoother, more convenient customer experience while improving safety compliance.

The metering, data and energy intelligence supplier is integrating Agentic Video Intelligence from Vyntelligence to support field workers by equipping them with necessary information ahead of visits.

Using AI to analyse video footage from a site will give customers a more efficient service by reducing abort rates and supporting a move to a 100 per cent compliance check rate.

Lack of information around access, unexpected site conditions and health and safety concerns result in wasted time, the need to book further visits and a knock-on effect with other customers having to wait longer.

Jo Cox, CEO of IMSERV, said: “IMSERV has always been focused on combining operational excellence with innovation. Becoming the world’s first smart metering provider to deploy the technology from Vyntelligence underlines our commitment to leading the market through technology, data and insight and ensuring our customers receive the best service.”

Vyntelligence’s software allows customers to record video surveys of the site showing where the meter is located, any safety considerations, site access and even where the engineer can park. This is analysed by AI technology, providing precise details to the engineer. Any concerns can be raised before they arrive on site and they will be fully equipped with the right information to carry out the job with no unexpected problems.

Further video evidence captured during the visit can identify any health and safety concerns or compliance risks before the engineer completes the visit, providing another layer of assurance.

She said: “We are continually investing in new technologies that improve the experience for our customers while enabling our colleagues to work more safely and efficiently. Our partnership with Vyntelligence represents a significant step forward in how we use data and intelligence to transform field operations.

“By harnessing AI-powered video intelligence, we can gain far greater visibility of sites before and during visits, helping to reduce aborted appointments, improve first-time completion rates and deliver a better overall customer experience.”

“As the energy sector continues to evolve, access to high-quality data and actionable intelligence is becoming increasingly important. This technology will provide our teams with richer insights into customer sites and assets, enabling smarter decision-making and supporting our ambition to be a leading provider of energy intelligence services.

“Safety remains our highest priority. The ability to capture and analyse rich site information in real time will help our engineers identify and mitigate risks more effectively, providing additional assurance for both our colleagues and customers.”

The partnership will enable IMSERV to transform every site interaction into valuable operational intelligence, helping to continuously improve customer outcomes, enhance safety and strengthen its position as a data-led energy services provider.

Field technician Brain Lawton said: “It feels good to embrace some new technology and get ahead of our competitors. This will be another tool in the belt for winning contracts.”

Kapil Singhal, co-founder and CEO of Vyntelligence, said: “We are excited to partner with IMSERV to deliver on our mission to bring asset intelligence, site intelligence, and work assurance within a single physical work AI platform. By mobilising the right intelligence at the right time, we are empowering field teams to work smarter, safer, and more efficiently.”
