IMServ, a leading UK metering and data services provider, has teamed up with B2B energy supplier Valda Energy to roll out the first-ever standalone AMR Smart Gas Meter for small commercial sites—marking a major milestone in smart energy innovation.
In locations where traditional SMETS 2 meters can’t be installed, this breakthrough technology offers a smart, scalable alternative—potentially unlocking over one million new smart meter installations across the UK. This is a game-changer for energy suppliers and businesses and can help suppliers to meet their smart meter roll out targets.

The SciFlo® Smart Gas Meter manufactured by Danish metering specialist, Flonidan, is the first E6 (or 6m3/hr) meter of its type, able to deliver fully integrated communications. This means the meter can transmit remote readings without being reliant on a nearby electricity meter or WAN device, a breakthrough in gas metering flexibility.
