Recognised for outstanding delivery of its Automated Meter Reading project, allowing British Land to fully automate energy consumption data collection and management

13 May 2014, Milton Keynes, UK: British Land, a leading European real estate investment trust, has awarded IMServ, one of the UK’s largest independent energy data management providers, its ‘Managing Efficiently Supplier’ Award. The award is a result of “exceptional project management of the AMR rollout across the retail portfolio.”

IMServ is delighted with the win, commenting on the project Richard Hill, Head of Customer Services at IMServ said: “To start, we carried out desktop surveys which were followed up with site visits. British Land required a more accurate understanding of its energy usage profiles to assist with their energy saving strategies and site management. The company had limited knowledge of its monthly energy spend as irregular manual reads were being taken on large sites; the delay meant that this information was often out of date once it had reached the energy management team.

“In response, IMServ recommended non-half hourly and half hourly automated meter reading (NHH and HH AMR), along with Energy DataVision (EDV), apowerful, energy management software which has enabled British Land to capture, visualise and analyse its energy consumption and so reduce energy inefficiency, carbon emissions and unecessary costs.”

Throughout the project IMServ has worked alongside Matt Webster, Energy Executive at British Land, commenting on the collaboration, Matt said: “IMServ have proved invaluable in rolling this project out – the service we have received has been first rate.

“British Land owns and manages a portfolio of commercial property. We focus primarily on high quality retail locations and central London offices which are managed via agents, adding a level of complexity to our requirements. IMServ provided us with comprehensive project management planning with the team handling the process between multiple Managing Agents of each property ensuring there was minimum disruption during installation. Weekly implementation reports, conference calls, regular face to face meetings and training sessions have ensured we make the best use of the data and hit all key milestones.”

Following the successful completion of the AMR phase of the project, IMServ and British Land will be working together to identify further energy saving opportunities.

IMServ works closely with many FTSE 250 organisations and companies within the commercial and industrial sectors, advising on effective energy management solutions. The company offers a range of monitoring, visualisation and control services that allow businesses to gain greater insight into their water and electricity usage.
